Removing the Microphone Module

 

1.

Follow the procedures in

Before You Begin

.


 

2.

Remove the palm rest. See

Removing the Palm Rest

.


 

3.

Disconnect the microphone cable from the system board and remove the microphone module.

 

Replacing the Microphone Module

 

1.

Connect the USB/Audio board cables to the system board.

 

2.

Connect the microphone cable to the connector on the system board.

).

Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions that shipped with your computer.

NOTICE:

To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such

as a connector on the back of the computer).

NOTICE:

To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the

computer.

NOTE:

The analog microphone is not present if you have ordered the optional camera. Instead, you will have digital array microphones with the camera.
