This chapter describes how to set up and configure the Dell DR2000v for the first time, including registration with a
physical DR Series system. Refer to the following topics.

Registering the DR2000v with a Physical DR Series System

Setting up and Configuring the DR2000v for the First Time

This initial configuration includes a process to register with a physical DR Series system by which the DR2000v will be

managed. This also includes an optional DR2000v registration with Dell. To set up and configure the DR2000v after

deployment, complete the following steps.

1.

After you have deployed the DR2000v and it has booted, open a browser and navigate to the DR2000v.

2.

On the Login page, log on to the DR2000v virtual machine (VM) console using the following credentials:
user: administrator, password: St0r@ge!
The Customer Registration and Notification page appears.

3.

On the Customer Registration and Notification page, enter your registration information and then click Confirm. This

step is recommended for all installed DR Series systems.

4.

On the Initial System Configuration page, click Yes to start the configuration wizard.

5.

Click through the wizard to configure the necessary network entries and confirm the configuration settings. (If

static configuration is used, all of the entries must be entered manually.)
For more detailed information about how to use this wizard, see the topic, “Logging in and Initializing the DR Series
System,” in the

DR Series System Administrator Guide

.

Once you have submitted your configuration settings, the VM runs through the initial configuration, which might
take up to 10 minutes to complete.

6.

After the initial configuration and the license is successfully installed, an Initial Software Upgrade page is displayed

for you to verify that you have the latest available software updates.

Registering the DR2000v with a Physical DR Series System

After the DR2000v is successfully deployed and booted for the first time, it must register to a physical DR Series system.
For more information about licensing and requirements for registering with a physical DR Series system, see the topic,
“Setting up Licensing for the DR2000v,” in this guide.
If you did not complete this registration during the initial configuration of the DR2000v, to manually register the DR2000v

with a physical DR Series system, complete the following steps.

1.

Access the DR2000v GUI management interface using the login credentials: user: administrator, password:

St0r@ge!

2.

If you have not confirmed your customer registration information with Dell, you might see the Customer Registration

and Notification page. Enter your registration information and then click Confirm. This step is recommended for all

installed DR Series systems.
