5. In the Email Address field, type the new email address for the administrator.
6. Click OK.

Changing a Local Administrator Password

You can change the password only for a local administrator account. The password for remote
administrators is maintained in the external database.

1.

Click the Access Control tab on the left.

2. Click the User Repositories tab on the top.

3. In the Local Users pane, click

in the row of the user whose password you want to change.

4. Click Change Password.

The Change Password for Local User dialog box appears.

5. In the New password field, type a password for the administrator.

The password must be at least seven characters long and contain three of the following elements: a
lowercase character, an uppercase character, a digit, or a special character (such as +, ?, or

∗).

6. In the Repeat new password field, re

‐type the password for the administrator.

7. Click OK.

Deleting an Administrator

Delete an administrator account when it is no longer used for FluidFS cluster management. The built

Administrator account cannot be deleted.

Click the System tab on the left.

2. Click the Mail & Admins tab on the top.

3. In the Administrator Users pane, click

in the row of the administrator you want to modify.

4. Click Delete.

The Delete dialog box appears.

5. Click OK.

Managing Local Users

You can create local users that can access CIFS shares and NFS exports, or that will become a FluidFS
cluster administrator. You might want to create local users in the following cases:

• You do not have remote users (AD/LDAP/NIS)
• Both CIFS/NFS will be used, but you have a remote user repository (AD/LDAP/NIS) relevant for only

one protocol and a small number of users using the other protocol

When prompted to authenticate to access a CIFS share, local users must use the following format for the
user name:

<client_VIP_or_name>\<local_user_name>
