An operation or device that enters and extracts data from your computer. Keyboards and printers are I/O
devices.

IrDA -

Infrared Data Association

A standards organization which developed the specifications for infrared communication.

IR sensor -

infrared sensor

A port that allows you to transfer data between the computer and IR-compatible devices without using a
cable connections.

ISP -

Internet service provider

Any company that allows you to access its host server to connect directly to the Internet. The ISP gives you
a software package, user name, and access phone numbers for a monthly fee. If your computer has a
modem, you can connect to the Internet, access websites, and send and receive e-mail.

kilobyte

A unit of data that equals 1,024 bytes but is often referred to as 1,000 bytes.
