To remove the control panel, perform the following steps.

1.

Remove the computer cover

.

2.

Remove the front panel

.

3.

Remove the AGP card brace

.

4.

Remove all expansion cards

.

5.

Remove the expansion card guide

.

6. Disconnect the control panel cable from the control panel connector (labeled PANEL) on the system board (see the

interior service label

or

Figure 24

for the location of the control panel connector).

7. Lift the handle on the drive bay door and open the door.

8. Feed the control panel cable through the opening on the floor of the chassis and the opening in the front of the chassis.

9. Disconnect the speaker and the chassis intrusion switch cables from their control panel connectors.

10. Remove the screw.

11. Lift the control panel and control panel cable free.

To reinstall the control panel, perform the removal procedure in reverse.
