Using Your Inspiron One

1 Right panel buttons and connectors — Adjusts brightness and connects USB, audio, and

other devices into the appropriate connector.

Hard drive activity light — Turns on when the computer reads or writes data. A blinking

light indicates hard drive activity.

CAUTION: To avoid loss of data, never turn off the computer, move the computer, or
adjust the stand while the hard drive activity light is blinking.

Power button and light — Turns the computer on or off when pressed. The light in the

center of this button indicates the following power states:

Solid amber — The system board cannot start initialization. There may be an issue with

either the system board or the power supply. Contact Dell (see “Contacting Dell” on

page 60).
Blinking amber — The computer has detected an error during the

Power-on self-test (POST). Contact Dell (see “Contacting Dell” on page 60).
Blinking white — The computer is in sleep state.

Solid white — The computer is on.

Off — The computer is off or in hibernate state.
