Removing the Coin-Cell Battery

WARNING: The battery may explode if installed incorrectly. Replace the battery

only with the same or equivalent type. Discard used batteries according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.

CAUTION: Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS settings to default.

It is recommended that you note the BIOS settings before removing the
coin-cell battery.

Prerequisites

Remove the base cover. See "Removing the Base Cover" on page 10.

Disconnect the power-light board cable from the system board. See "Removing the
Power-Light Board" on page 12.

Remove the battery. See "Removing the Battery" on page 14.
