Cleaning

Be sure to turn off the power and

disconnect the AC plug from a wall
outlet.

Cleaning the unit

Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. If the
dirt IS excessive, wipe it off with a soft
cloth lightly moistened with a mild
detergent solution and wipe with a soft
dry cloth.

Do not apply any type of solvent which

may damage the finish.

Cleaning the lens

Clean the surface of the lens with a
blower brush. Do not rub with a doth.
The lens cleaning tissue papers are
recommended.

Cleaning the Filter

If there is excessive dust on the air intake,
the temperature in the unit increases,

"TEMP" appears on the screen and the

unit does not work.

Point the lens upward.

Pull the filter out

Put your finger nail or a coin into the
groove on the filter and pull down.

Wash the filter sponge.

Remove it from the fUto-. Wash with

water or a mild detergent solution and

then rinse with water. After washing,
allow it to dry completely.
If dirt remains or danuge occurs to the
filter sponge, please consult your
nearest Sony dealer.

Install the filter sponge to the

filter.

Put it into each retainer on the filter.

Install the filter to the unit

Precautions

• Operate the unit only on 120 V AC, 60

Hz, or it may cause a malfunction.

* Do not place the unit in a location

where it is:
• near fire
- possible for the air intake and vent

to be covered (on the carpet, cloth-

chair or table cloth, paper, plastic
bag which can easily be didodged,
or within 10cm of a wall, etc.)

• near the vent of a heater (See

illustration Q-Ial)

• on a warm electrical appliance
- smoky or steam

- ill ventilated (See illustration

Blbl)

If the air intake and vent ace
covered with a table cloth, etc. or
the unit is placed on the bedclothes,
it may present a risk of fire or
malfunction.

• extremely hot

If you leave the unit in a car whose
windows ace closed, especially in

sununer, its cabinet may warp or it

may cause a malfunction.

- under direct sunlight or near a

heating appliance
It may cause a malfunction to the

cabinet or parts.

Be careful not to drop or let fall.

• Do not look into the lens while using.
• Note on the safety switch

The safety switch inside of the unit goes
into operation'.
- when the air intake or vent is covered
- when you use it in a stuffy place
• when the filler is dusty

When the safety switch functions,

disconnect the AC plug and leave the
unit for a couple of hours to be cool. If
the uiUt still does not work, contact
your nearest Sony dealer.

Troubleshooting

If you run into any problems using the uniL use the following table to troubleshoot the
problem.

The picture is dark.

Adjust the brightness by turning the PICTURE
controL

A warm wind blows from vent. This is not a malfunction.
