Setting the Sleep
Timer

You can enjoy falling asleep to the radio using
the built-in sleep timer that turns off the radio
automatically after a preset duration.

RADiO/SLEEP

repeatedly.

The radio turns on and the "On"

indication will appear initially in the

display. The radio will turn off
automatically after the selected preset

duration has elapsed.
Each time you press

RADIO/SLEEP,

the

duration changes as follows.

Radio on —♦ 90 min —» 60 min —♦ 30 min

• To turn off the radio before the preset duration

has elapsed, press SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF.

Installing the
batteries into the
remote control

(see Fig. □)

(ICF-CD825RM only)

Install two R6 (size AA) batteries (not supplied)
into the battery compartment of the remote

control. Before operating the remote control,
please read the following instrucbons and then
see "Using the Remote Control".

1 Open the battery compartment Ud.
2 Iiisert two R6 (size AA_) batteries, (riot.

supplied) with correct polarity.

3 Close the lid.

When to replace the batteries

To check the remaining battery power, go near

ttte CD dock radio and operate the remote
centred. If die remote control does not operate,

replace both batteries wifo new ones.

Notes

• Do not charge the dry batteries.
• When you are trot going to use the remote

control for a long lime, remove the batteries to
avoid any damage caused by battery leakage

and corrosion.

Using the Remote
Control

You can play the CD, radio, set the sleep timer c.
use the

SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF

function.

The effective range of the frequency emitted
from the remote control is approximately 5m

(16ft.). Make sure to use the remote ccmtrol
witìiin tìùs range.
The control buttons on the remote control are the

same as the control buttons on ^e main unit as
descibed below:

• The SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF on the remote control

is the same as the SNOOZE/SLEEP OFF button
on the main unit.

• The CO Wl on the remote control is the same

as the CD Ml on the main unit.

• The RADIO/SLEEP on the remote control is the

same as the RADIO/SLEEP on the main unit.

• The ALARM RESET/OFF on the remote control

is the same as the ALARM RESET/OFF on the
main unit.

INSTALLATION

Water and Moisture

Do not install the appliance near water for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink,
laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool.

Heat

Do not install the appliance near sources of heat such as radiatois, heat registers, stoves, or

otoer appUaitces that produce heat.

Ventilation

Slots and openings in the cabinet and in the back or bottom are provided for nece^iy ventilation.

To ensure reliable and safe operation of the appliarve, and to protect it from overheating, these
slots and openings must never be blocked or covered.

Do not place the appliance on a bed, sofa, rug or other siinilar surface which ttuiy block foe slots
and openings.

Do not irtstall the appliance in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabirwt, unless

proper ventilation is provided.

Carts and Stands

Do not install foe

on an unstable table, shelf, cart or stand. Use only a cart or stand

recorrunended by Sony.

An appliance and cart combination should be moved wifo care. Quick stops, excessive force, and
uneven surfaces may cause foe appliance and cart combination to overturn.

Wall or Ceiling Mounting

If your appliartce can be mounted to a wall or ceiling, mount it only as recommended by Sony.

USE

Power Source

Cormect the appliartce to a power supply ortly of the type described in the operating instructions
or as marked on foe appliartce.

Grounding or Polarization

Do rtot defeat foe giouitding or polarizatkm feattue of foe AC power cord. If your AC receptacle
will rtot accept foe power cord plug, contact your electrician to install a proper AC receptacle.

AC Receptacle

Check to make sure that foe AC receptacle holds foe power cord plug fiimly and securely. If the
power cord plug is loose, contact your electrician to replace the defective and unsafe AC
recepttade.

Power-Cord Protection

Route the power cord so that it is not likely to be walked on or pinched by having objects placed
on it, paying particular attention to the plugs, receptacles, and the point where foe cord exits from
foe appliance.

When not in use

Unplug foe power cord of foe'appiiance from foe outlet when left unused for a long period of'

To disconnect the cord, pull it out by grasping foe plug. Never pull the plug out by foe cord.

Foreign Objects

Be careful that foreign objects and liquids do not enter the enclosure through openings.

Cleaning

Clean the appliance only as recommended by Sony.
