• Dirty/clogged muffler.
• Loose or damaged wiring.
• Carburetor out of adjustment.

• Engine valves out of adjust­

ment.

• Clean/replace muffler.
• Check all wiring.

section.

• Contact an authorized service

center.

Excessive vibration

• Worn, bent or loose blade.
• Bent blade mandrel.
• Loose/damaged part(s).

• Replace blade. Tighten blade bolt.
• Replace blade mandrel.

• Tighten loose part(s). Replace

damaged parts.

Engine continues to
run when operator

• Check wiring, switches and con­

nections. If not

• Bent blade mandrel.

• Clogged mower deck vent

holes from buildup of
grass, leaves, and trash
around mandrels.

• Replace blade. Tighten blade bolt.
• Level mower deck.
• Clean underside of mower hous­

ing.

• Replace blade mandrel.
• Clean around mandrels to open

vent holes.

Mower blades will not
rotate

• Obstruction in clutch mecha­

nism.

• Worn/damaged mower drive

belt.

• Frozen idler pulley.
• Frozen blade mandrel.
• Engine speed too slow.

• Remove obstruction.

• Replace mower drive belt.

• Replace idler pulley.
• Replace blade mandrel.
• Place throttle control in “FAST’ po­

sition.

Poor grass discharge

• Travel speed too fast.
• Wet grass.
• Mower deck not level.

• Low/uneven tire air pressure.

■ Worn, bent or loose blade.

• Buildup of grass, leaves and

trash under mower.

• Mower drive belt worn.
• Blades improperly installed.

• Improper blades used.

• Clogged mower deck vent

holes from buildup of
grass, leaves, and trash
around mandrels.

• Shift to slower speed.
• Allow grass to dry before mowing.
• Level mower deck.

■ Check tires for proper air pres­

sure.

• Replace/sharpen blade. Tighten

blade bolt.

• Clean underside of mower hous­

ing.

• Replace mower drive belt.
• Reinstall blades sharp edge

down.

• Replace with blades listed in this

manual.

• Clean around mandrels to open

vent holes.

Headlight(s) not work
ing (if so equipped)

• Switch is "OFF”.
• BuIbCs) burned out
• Faulty light switch.
• Loose or damaged wiring.
• Blown fuse.

• Turn switch “ON”.
• Replace bulb(s).
• Check/replace light switch.
• Check wiring ana connections.
• Replace fuse.

Battery will not charge

• Bad battery cell(s).
• Poor cable connections.

• Faulty regulator (if so

equipped).

• Faulty alternator.

• Replace battery.
• Check/ciean all connections.
• Replace regulator.

• Replace alternator.
