Description
Trouble Clearing Procedure
DS1 Card n Removed 
While In Service
Quad T1 Framer card removed 
while one or more of the 4 DS1s 
were provisioned as in-service.
Insert a Quad T1 Framer card, or 
provision all 4 DS1s as out of 
service. Use following command 
to change service state:
set ds1 <n> <up|down>
DS1 n Loss of Frame
DS1 has LOF (Loss of Frame) – 
there is a signal present but the 
DS1 receiver is not framed to it. 
This alarm occurs if the DS1 is set 
for ESF and the incoming signal is 
D4 (or vice-versa).
Correct the problem with the 
incoming DS1 signal, or use 
following command to provision 
the DS1 as out of service:
set ds1 <n> <up|down>
DS1 n Loss of Signal
DS1 has LOS (Loss of Signal)
Correct the problem with the 
incoming DS1 signal, or use 
following command to provision 
the DS1 as out of service:
set ds1 <n> <up|down>
DS1 n RAI (Yellow 
Alarm)
DS1 is receiving RAI (Remote 
Alarm Indication), also known as 
Yellow Alarm. The far end 
network element sends this alarm 
when it declares Carrier Failure 
Alarm (LOS, LOF, AIS).
Correct the problem with the 
incoming DS1 at the far end, or 
use following command to 
provision the DS1 as out of 
service:
set ds1 <n> <up|down>
DS1 n Transmit Failure
Quad T1 Framer transmit DS1 
circuit failure
Replace the Quad T1 Framer card, 
or use following command to 
provision the DS1 as out of 
service:
set ds1 <n> <up|down>
Manually set major 
alarm
Allows user to set and clear 
critical alarm state. LED, relay, 
alarm, and event logs follow 
setting.
Use following command to clear 
alarm:
set alarms major off
