replacement
lens

hand.

quickly
change
the
lens
in
the
shade
...
or
use
your shadow as a shield from the direct light.
DISTANCE SCALE . . .
The
distance
scale
indicates
the
distance
between
the
focused
subject
and
the
film.
It is not necessary to check the scale for normal photography ; however, it is neces
sary
for
infrared
photography,
which
is
explained
later
on,
and
for
determining
depth-of-field.

This
line
gives
you
the
exact
position
of
the
film
plane
in
your
camera.
To
focus
on
a
subject
without
using
the
range-viewfinder,
a
measurement
between
the
subject
and
the
film
plane is taken, then the distance index mark is
set to the actual distance figure.
