• Do not change your lens in the strong light. When changing your lens, have the

replacement

lens

at

hand.

Then

quickly

change

the

lens

in

the

shade

...

or

use

your shadow as a shield from the direct light.

DISTANCE SCALE . . .

The

distance

scale

indicates

the

distance

between

the

focused

subject

and

the

film.

It is not necessary to check the scale for normal photography ; however, it is neces­

sary

for

infrared

photography,

which

is

explained

later

on,

and

for

determining

depth-of-field.

This

line

gives

you

the

exact

position

of

the

film

plane

in

your

camera.

To

focus

on

a

subject

without

using

the

range-viewfinder,

a

measurement

between

the

subject

and

the

film

plane is taken, then the distance index mark is

set to the actual distance figure.
