A camera of the highest precision
: A single-lens "reflex camera which meets all technical
requirements.- An easy-to-hold, compact body with all
functions ideally arranged. 19 mm super-wide angle and
many, other interchangeable lenses and accessories are
available to enable the photographer to cope with any
situation.

Type: 35 mm full frame single-lens reflex camera with focal plane shutter.
Viewfinder: Eye-level system using pentagonal prism. Waist-Level Viewer 2
can be attached.
Mirror: Shockless quick-return system. Mirror can be locked upwards.
Standard Lenses: FL 50 mm F 1.8, FL 50 mm F 1.4 II, FL 55 mm F 1.2.
Aperture: Fully automatic pre-set aperture built in. Pre-set release possible.
Shutter: 1/1000-1 sec. and B (T) X.
Exposure Meter: Zero-method type CdS meter coupled to shutter dial and
aperture setting. Through-the-lens (TTL) system. EV 3—18 (ASA 100 film at
FI.4) one-stage system. Utilizes one 1.3 V MD type (No. 625) mercury battery.
Exposure Control: Exposure meter functions with the CdS actuating lever.
Battery checker built in.
Film Speeds: ASA 25-2000. DIN 15-34.
Measuring of Ultra-Low Illumination: EV 2.5 1/4 sec —EV -3.5 15 sec. at
F 1.2 can be measured with the attachment of Canon Booster. (Auxiliary
meter for extremely dim light condition.)

Canon Interchangeable Lenses
The introduction of CANON lenses followed four years after the
debut
of the first CANON camera. Since that time they have
become universally accepted by the photographic world and
have been acclaimed by both amateurs and professionals alike.
In particular they have become world renowned for their advanced
systems.
Each Canon lens is perfect in aberration correction and the
fastest of its kind in the world in full aperture lens speed. In
designing
lenses, Canon employs response function, lens coeffi­
cient and other contemporary theories. Canon lenses are designed
automatically by electronic “brains” on the basis of the best data
accumulated by Canon. In the actual production of lenses, Canon
uses
carefully selected materials, adequate quantities of rare-
element glass, advanced grinding and skilled adjusting tech­
niques.
Canon
interchangeable lenses come with the standard screw
mount (Leica mount) for the Canon 7 and 7S, or with the FL
mount for the Canon Pellix QL, FT QL and other SLR cameras,
as shown below.
Canon
FL series of interchangeable lenses for Canon single­
lens reflex camera have been developed as a result of Canon’s
outstanding research technology and adoption of highly reliable
electronic computer.
Canon
offers 30 kinds of interchangeable lenses for use with
single-lens reflex camera, ranging from ultra wide angle lens
19 mm to ultra telephoto lens 5200 mm.
Canon
also offers “Compact Lenses” in the categories of wide
angle, telephoto and zoom lenses. They are FL 35 mm F 3.5,
FL 135 mm F 3.5, FL 200 mm F 4.5 and FL 100-200 mm F 5.6.
Furthermore,
the Macro Canon Lens FL 50 mm F 3.5, which
boasts superb resolving power, is conveniently used for per­
forming macrophotography. Canon Inc., at the same time, works
its way to improve standard lenses for higher contrast and
resolution power. Aspheric lens FL 55 mm F 1.2 AL was added
to Canon’s superior interchangeable lenses.
