*The tailwater discharge settings listed are valid if the tailwater uses the same discharge control signals as the

reservoir water. Slot 0, bit 0 will default tailwater discharge to the same control signal as reservoir discharge.

10.14 Tuning Inching Gates

There are four controls used in the CB-2 to tune inching gates which include three CB-2 application variables

and the 920i filtering variable.
The three CB-2 variables are the control rate filter in the scales database and the initial burst time and inch time

parameters found in the scales database for hopper scales or the locations database for loss in weight scales.

Initial Burst Time Parameter

Indicates the duration in seconds of the initial open signal. Adjust this to control how far the gate is initially

opened.

Inch Time Parameter

This indicates the duration in milliseconds (0.001 seconds) of the inching pulses.

Control Rate Filter

This specifies the time in milliseconds (0.001 seconds) both to wait for the flow rate to stabilize after moving the

gate and over which to measure the flow rate once it has stabilized.
The CB-2 will wait for this amount of time for the flow rate to stabilize after pulsing an inching gate and then

average the rate for the same amount of time to determine the next action to take.
The 920i indicator variables are the filtering parameters.
The rate of change calculation is based on filtered weight readings, so higher filtering settings will result in

slower response to sudden flow rate changes.
