10.15 Setting up Time & Date Formats

Date Format
The format specification is a string that contains both tokens and keywords.The following key-
words are supported:

INDICATOR

- Must be the entire format specification

YEAR

-

Four

digit

year

MONTH

- Month in English

MON

- Three character abbreviated month in English

WDAY

- Day of the week

DAY

- Day in minimum number of digits

DST

- Day in minimum number of digits with suffix (1st, 10th, ... )

The following tokens are supported to format the day, month, and year.

The number of contiguous characters determines the number of characters to be printed.

If no month specification is included in the string, the day is assumed to be the Julian day

of the year.

D or d - Day

M or m - Month

Y or y - Year

Lower case tokens will have leading blanks, upper case will have leading zeroes.

All other included characters are printed as specified.
