ST-TUNE Troubleshooting
TROUBLE
POSSIBLE
CAUSE(S)
CORRECTIVE ACTION
VAC at wall outlet or
power strip is not
available. Verify VAC at wall outlet or power strip is
available.
External power pack
faulty. Replace external power pack.
No power on network
wiring. Verify network wiring.
Not enough current
available on network
wiring. If using a CEN-TVAV, CN-TVAV, or
ST-CP as a control system, the ST-TUNE
requires the supplied external power pack
for sufficient current.
ST-TUNE is not comm-
unicating on network. Check network cabling for solid
connections and correct pinouts.
NET ID is not set to
match the NET ID of the
SIMPL program. Enter Viewport and poll the network (F4).
Verify that the NET ID for the ST-TUNE is
properly set to match the SIMPL program.
Cable(s) not connected
properly. Verify cable(s) is securely connected.
Cable(s) connections
dirty. Clean cable connection(s) with electrical
contact cleaner.
AM antenna connection
dirty. Clean AM antenna connection with
electrical contact cleaner.
AM antenna placement
not good. Refer to note 1 following this table.
ST-TUNE located in
outer fringe or bad
reception area. Refer to note 2 following this table.
FM or WX radio
reception not
clear. FM input connection
dirty. Clean FM input connection with electrical
contact cleaner.
TV reception not
clear. TV input connection
dirty. Clean TV input connection with electrical
contact cleaner.
ST-TUNE is in MONO
mode. Press MONO button to deselect mono
reception.
Received channel does
not support SAP. No corrective action.
FM input connection
dirty. Clean FM input connection with electrical
contact cleaner.
Station signal strength
too low. Verify good signal strength due to
antenna placement.
In control system program, select the
Sense-High symbol input.
Green PWR
indicator LED
does not
illuminate.
Yellow NET
indicator LED
does not
illuminate.
SRCH function
does not work
properly.
Audio or video
output missing or
not clear.
AM radio
reception not
