Power Sources EI
Insert one R6/LR6, AA, UM-3 (not included) battery.
■ Battery condition indicator
During playback or radio reception, the indicator is always shown.
•When you start playback or radio reception, the indicator scrolls 2
times before it lights.
•When you press ВАТТ CHECK in the stop mode, the indicator
scrolls 2 times and lights for about 5 seconds.
When the battery is weak
The indicator will flash and then: 0
Leaving the unit in this condition erases the contents of the
memory.
Replacing the battery within 30 seconds will retain any stored infor­
mation.
Before Operation
■ Connecting the earphones Q
Insert the earphones or headphones plug firmly into the Q jack.
If a gritty noise is heard, wipe away the dirt from the plug.
■ Concerning the hold function B
This function prevents the unit from being operated even if any of
the front panel buttons are pressed in error.

Cautions
• Do not play your headphones or earphones at a high volume.
• Do not use while operating a motorized vehicle.
• Insert the battery in the correct polarities to avoid leakage and
damage to this unit.
• Remove the battery if the set will not be used for a long period of
time.
• If rechargeable batteries are to be used, rechargeable batteries
manufactured by Panasonic are recommended.
•To avoid product damage, do not expose this product to rain,
water or other liquids.
•Avoid using or placing this unit near sources of heat. Do not leave
it in an automobile exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of
time with doors and windows closed.
Maintenance B
Head care
To ensure good sound quality, clean the head after approximately
every 10 hours of use with a cotton swab dampened with a little al­
cohol.
Main unit
Clean the cabinet with a cloth, dampened in mild solution of soap
and water. Do not use benzine or thinner or aerosol type cleaner.
Get into a habit of cleaning the head assembly (after every
10 hours or so) with a cotton swab dampened with a little alcohol.
To boost the low frequency range Q
VMSS (RQ-E35V)
The vibration of the earpieces of the included headphones makes
sound vigorous.
Raising the volume makes the VMSS effect intensify.
•The effectiveness of VMSS depends on the source.
• If you experience a ringing or discomfort in your ear while listening
in VMSS mode, reduce volume or turn the VMSS mode OFF.
XBS (RÛ-E30V)
• If the sound distortion occurs, turn down the volume.
VMSS (RQ-E35V) or XBS (RQ-E30V) does not function for AM re­
ception.
If you press
VMSS/XBS during AM reception, “E” is shown on the
display.

■ Témoin d’état de la pile
Pendant la lecture ou la réception de la radio, le témoin est toujours
affiché.
•Quand la lecture ou la réception de la radio commencent, le
témoin défile 2 fois avant de s’allumer.
•Si l’on appuie sur ВАТТ CHECK pendant l’arrêt, le témoin défile
2 fois et il s’allume pendant environ 5 secondes.

Le témoin clignote, puis: 0
Le fait de laisser l’appareil dans cet état efface le contenu de la
mémoire.
Remplacer les piles dans les 30 secondes pour conserver toutes
les données mémorisées.
Avant le fonctionnement
■ Raccordement des écouteurs B
Brancher le casque à fond dans la prise Q.
Si l’on entend un bruit de “friture”, nettoyer la saleté de la fiche.
■ A propos de la fonction blocage (HOLD) B
Cette fonction empêche l’appareil de fonctionner si l'on appuie sur
les touches du panneau avant par erreur.

Lorsque l’appareil est en état bloqué, l'affichage indique “ISMVJ”.
Précautions
•A pleine puissance, l’écoute prolongée du baladeur peut endom­
mager l’oreille de l’utilisateur.
• L’écoute au casque en conduisant un véhicule automobile.
• Insérer la pile en respectant les polarités pour éviter toute fuite et
tout dommage de l'appareil.
• Retirer la pile si l'appareil doit rester longtemps inutilisé.
•Si l’on doit utiliser des batteries rechargeables, il est recommandé
d’utiliser des batteries rechargeables de marque Panasonic.
• Pour éviter tout dommage de l’appareil, ne pas exposer l’appareil
à la pluie, à l’eau ni à aucun autre liquide.
• Eviter d’utiliser ou de placer l’appareil à proximité d’une source de
chaleur. En particulier, ne pas le laisser à l’intérieur d’une voiture
stationnée en plein soleil pendant longtemps toutes vitres et
portières fermées.
Entretien B
Soin de la tête
Pour garantir une bonne qualité sonore, nettoyer la tête environ
toutes les 10 heures d’utilisation avec un cotontige humecté d'un
peu d’alcool.
Appareil principal
Nettoyer le coffret avec un chiffon humecté d'une solution douce de
savon et d’eau. Ne pas utiliser de benzine, de diluant ni de produits
de nettoyage en aérosol.
Renforcement des basses fréquences B
VMSS (RQ-E35V)
Les vibrations des pavillons du casque fourni donnent de la vigueur
au son.
Augmenter le niveau du volume pour renforcer l’effet VMSS.
•La fonction VMSS peut ne pas être possible selon la source.
•Si l’on entend un bourdonnement ou qu’on ressent une gêne dans
les oreilles pendant une écoute en mode VMSS, réduire le vo­
lume ou désactiver (OFF) le mode VMSS.
XBS (RQ-E30V)
• Si le son se déforme, réduire le volume.
Les fonctions VMSS (RQ-E35V) et XBS(RQ-E30V) ne sont pas
opérationnelles pour la réception AM.
