TCfW: Opening RTF Attachments Occasionally Fails

Opening RTF attachments in TCfW sometimes fails with the error:

The process cannot

access the file because it is being used by another process

. Another attempt to

open the attachment succeeds without any errors. (320488, SPR00120108)

Workaround: Do not use Microsoft OLE control for displaying and editing attachments.

Add the extension RTF to the registry value

HKxx\SOFTWARE\TOPCALL\TCFW\WorkStation

\ShellExecuteExtensions

.

TCfW: PDF Attachments on Windows 8

In TCfW Communication Server Client installed on Windows 8, by default, PDF attachments

are opened with the built-in PDF viewer. Closing the PDF document does not close the OLE

link of the message.

Workaround: Use an external PDF viewer, not the built-in one.

TC/LINK-LN: Some Messages Cannot Be Processed

With Lotus Notes client software older than release 8.5.3, some messages cannot be processed

by TC/LINK-LN. Installing Lotus Notes client 8.5.3 on the TC/LINK computer solves the

problem. (318439, SPR00092298)

For more information, see:
TC/LINK-LN Technical Manual, version 2.07.00 edition 14

Chapter Hints / Troubleshooting - Some Messages Cannot be Processed

Japanese and Other Characters Rotated

Japanese, Chinese, and other characters may appear rotated by 90 degrees. (319190,

SPR00113545)

Workaround: Fonts beginning with the at sign (@), such as @Arial Unicode MS, support

vertical writing of certain languages. Use fonts without the at sign, such as Arial Unicode MS.

Use Crystal Reports 11 or later.

KCS Client Applications Fail to Start After Update

If you update only KCS client applications on a computer that also includes KCS server

components, the client software fails to start because of obsolete shared modules. (320420,

SPR00176011)

Mixing components from the latest and older KCS releases on one computer is not supported.

Workaround: Update all KCS components to the latest release. Update server components

before updating the client applications.
