4. SAFE OPERATION PRINCIPLES

Advice

Before beginning to work with this equipment, please, read the operation manual carefully.

Preparation for operation

Do not allow children to operate the equipment.
Do not use the machine in the immediate vicinity of bystanders.
Do not use the power supply cable if damaged. If any damage of the power supply cable
occurred while working with the machine, do not touch the cable until disconnecting from
power supply. The damaged cable alive might do a serious harm to you.
Always wear eye protection while operating the machine.
Avoid wearing loose clothing with floppy strings, ribbons.
Use the equipment in an open area only (i.e. for example a safe distance away from walls
and similar objects). Work only on a firm and level surface.
Do not use the equipment on a paved or gravel surface where there is a risk of injury resulting
from the processed material being ejected.
Before starting the machine, check that all screws, bolts, nuts and other fasteners are
properly secured and protective components as guards and screens in place. Remove
damaged or unreadable labels from the machine.

Operation

Before starting the machine, make sure that the feeding chamber is empty.
Keep your face and body away from the feed opening.
Do not allow your hands or any other parts of your body or clothing get near the feeding
chamber (thereinafter feed hopper), discharge (thereinafter discharge chute) or near any
other moving part of the machine.
Do not lean over. Never stand at a higher level than the base of the machine when feeding
material into the feed hopper.
When operating this equipment, always stand clear of the discharge area, let us say the
discharge chute.
When feeding material into the shredder, be extremely careful that foreign objects as pieces of
rocks, glass, metal, et al. are not included.
If the shredding mechanism strikes any foreign object or if the machine starts making any
unusual noise or vibration: stop the machine and disconnect from power supply. Do the
following steps:
- Check and tighten any loose moving components.
- Repair any damaged parts or replace for new ones with corresponding properties.
Do not allow processed material to build up in the discharge area; this may cause
malfunction and can result in kickback of material through the feed opening.
