COMPACT DISC
RADIO RECEPTION
• Set the ON/OFF MODE selector © to
RADIO.
• Adjust the sound with the controls VOLUME ©,
GRAPHIC EQUAUZER © and DBB bass button ©.
• Select the wave band using BAND selector ©.
• Tune to a radio station using TUNING knob ®.

For FM, pull out the telescopic aerial. To improve
FM-reception, incline and turn the aerial. Reduce
its length if the FM-signal is too strong (very close
to a transmitter).
- For AM/MW and LW (Medium and Long Wave), the
set is provided with a built-in aerial, so there is no
need to use the telescopic aerial. The aerial can
be directed by turning the whole set.
- For Short Wave (SW), the telescopic aerial must be
puiled out and placed in the vertical position. To
improve SW-reception, vary the length of the
aerial.
• When BAND selector © is in position FM STEREO
and the FM STEREO * indicator©lights up, you are
receiving a FM-stereo transmitter. A disturbing noise,
due to a weak FM-stereo signal, can be suppressed
by setting the BAND selector (7) to FM MONO. The
FM STEREO fit indicator © wiil then go out and you
will hear
(and record)
the FM programme in mono.

To switch off the set, place ON/OFF MODE
selector © to
TAPE
-
POWER OFF.
PLAYING A DISC
• Set ON/OFF MODE selector © to
CD
(Compa
Disc).
• Press CD OPEN ® to open the disc cover.
• Insert the disc, printed side facing the windc
(fig.3).
• Close the cover. The CD-player starts and tl
display shows After that, the number of trad
present on the disc appears on the display ©and tt
CD-player stops.
• Adjust the sound with the controls VOLUME (
GRAPHIC EQUAUZER ® and DBB bass button (
• Playback will start by pressing PLAY I>. As so(
as playback starts, the display shows the tra(
number 1 (1=’ title). When the 2"^ title is reached, tf
track number 2 appears, etc.
• For brief interruptions, press PAUSE 1111. Then tt
PAUSE indicator lights up. To continue playbac
press PAUSE again.
• To stop playback, press STOP □. The CD-play
also goes to position STOP:
- if the CD-player reaches the end of the disc;
- if you press CD OPEN ©;
- if you move the ON/OFF MODE selector ©;
- if the batteries get exhausted or if the power supp
is interrupted in another way.
• To take out the disc, open the disc cover t
pressing CD OPEN © Press CD OPEN ® only if tf
CD-player is in position STOP.

To switch off the set, place ON/OFF MOC
selector © to
TAPE - POWER OFF.
Remarks
- If the battery voltage is not sufficient any more f
playing a disc, the CD-player will not start.
-If the display © shows 'E' for ERROR, tf
CD-player cannot read the disc. Possible caust
are:
- you inserted the disc in the wrong way (tf
printed side should face the window);
- the surface of the disc is badly scratched i
dirty, see ’Maintenance’;
- the lens © (fig. 4) is steamed up because of
sudden transition from a cold into a war
environment; do not clean the lens, but let tf
set acclimatize for a while.
