B.6 Rotary Engines

The ECU is capable of providing fuel and spark to twin-rotor Wankel engines, through staged
injection and also through controlling Leading and Trailing spark timing. To correctly run this
engine using the E6X, the Rotor parameter must be enabled in the Rotary/Cylinder mode
setting in the Main setup page. The number of cylinders must also be set to 4.

Main Setup page showing Rotary engine Setup

The Rotary engine’s factory injection setup usually consists of two banks of injectors, one
bank located close to the engine’s ports called the “Primary Injectors” and the other bank
located higher up the inlet manifold called “Secondary Injectors”. The Secondary Injectors are
only used when the engine load increases and extra fuelling is required. This is what is
referred to as a “Staged Injection”. The wiring of the Injectors for the Rotary engine is as
follows:

INJ1

Injector Front Rotor (Primary)

INJ2

Injector Rear Rotor (Primary)

INJ3
