Starting Engine

Pull out the choke knob located on the engine. See Fig. 5-1

NOTE: Use of the choke may not be necessary if the engine

is warm or the air temperature is high.

Turn the engine switch to on. See Fig. 5-1 inset.

Pull the starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull

rapidly to overcome compression, prevent kickback and

start the engine. See Fig. 5-1 . If engine does not start after

ten seconds of repeated pulls, wait a few minutes and

repeat.
NOTE: Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against

the rope guide. Return it gently to prevent damage to the

starter.
When the engine warms up, push in the choke knob.

WARNING:

Never run the engine indoors or in a

poorly ventilated area. Engine exhaust contains

carbon monoxide, an odorless and deadly gas.

Stopping Engine

Turn off the engine switch.

1.

Disconnect spark plug wire and ground against the engine

to prevent unintended starting.

To Empty Bag

Unhook bag straps from the lower handle.

1.

Unsnap bag clip from the top of lower handle. See Fig. 5-2.

2.

Grasp bag handle with one hand and pull lock rod on

mounting bracket with other hand toward engine to

release.
Lift bag off back of unit.

Twist the two buttons on the back of the bag to unlock and

empty contents. See Fig. 5-3. Hold bag handle and bag clip

while emptying the contents.
Compress bag opening and fold inner flap over opening.

6.

Fold outer flap over inner flap and insert buttons on the bag

through metal outlets. See Fig. 5-3.
