3. Return the tiller to its normal upright operating
position and reconnect the spark plug lead.
4. If the engine continues to run poorly, please con­

tact an authorized Tecumseh Service Dealer.

TINE REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

COOLING SYSTEM

Frequently remove debris from the engine cool­

ing fins, around the air intake screen, and levers
and linkage. This will help to ensure adequate
cooling and correct engine speed.

SPARK PLUG

Inspect the spark plug once yearly or every 75

operating hours. The gap should be set at .030".

Refer to the Engine Owner’s Manual for cleaning

and replacement information.

WARNING

Worn tines may be sharp. Wear heavy
gloves when removing, handling, or rein­
stalling tines to prevent personal injury.

IMPORTANT:

The four tines are not interchange­

able. They must be reinstalled in the same posi­

tions and their cutting edges must face forward. If

replacing tines due to wear, replace all four as a

set, rather than replacing a single, worn tine.

To be sure of reinstalling the tines in the correct

order, mark the tines as follows; Disconnect the
spark plug wire. Use a sharp nail or awl to
scratch the tine location on the tine (Outer l_/H,
Inner I_/H, Outer R/H, and Inner R/H).
