Troubleshooting
The camera
doesn't shoot. The CF card is not formatted
correctly. z Format the CF card. (p. 21).
z The card may be defective (its logical may be
corrupted). Contact the nearest Canon
Customer Help Desk.
Cannot play back You attempted to play back images
shot with another camera or
images edited at a computer. z Computer images that cannot be played back
will playback if they are added to the camera
using the bundled software program
ZoomBrowser EX or ImageBrowser. See the
ZoomBrowser EX/ImageBrowser User Guide
(PDF).
File name was changed with a
computer or file location was
changed. z Set the file name or location to the file format/
structure of the camera (See About File and
Folder Numbers (p. 114)).
Lens will not
retract Battery cover or CF card slot cover
opened with camera on. z Close the CF card slot cover or battery cover,
then turn off the camera.
Battery cover or CF card slot cover
opened while camera was
recording to CF card (warning
signal sounds). z Close the covers, and then use the ON/OFF
button to turn the power off correctly.
The batteries are
consumed quickly. Batteries are not the right type. z Use only unused AA-size alkaline batteries or
Canon AA-size NiMH batteries. (For
information about alkaline batteries, see
Proper Battery Handling (p. 18).)
