MAINTENANCE

CLEANING THE STRING TRIMMER

Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply.

Clean dirt and debris from the string trimmer using a damp

cloth with a mild detergent.

NOTE: Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic
housing or the handle. They can be damaged by certain
aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, and by solvents
such as kerosene.

PROBLEM

CAUSE

SOLUTION

Motor fails to start when switch trigger
is depressed.

Power cord is not plugged in or
connection is loose.
Household circuit breaker is tripped.

Plug in the power cord.

Check circuit breaker.

Line will not advance

Line is welded to itself.
Not enough line on spool.

Line is worn too short.

Line is tangled on spool.


Motor speed is too slow.

Lubricate line with silicone spray.
Install more line. Refer to the line
replacement section in this manual.
Pull lines while alternately pressing down
on and releasing spool retainer.
Remove line from spool and rewind.
Refer to the line replacement section in
this manual.
Advance line at full throttle.

Spool retainer hard to turn

Screw threads are dirty or damaged.

Clean threads and lubricate with grease
- if no improvement, replace the spool
retainer.

Grass wraps around shaft housing and
string head

Cutting tall grass at ground level.

Operating trimmer at part throttle.

Cut tall grass from the top down to
prevent wrapping.
Operate trimmer at full throttle.
