Changing the BIOS for Image4 64bit Operation

Your VSN890 is capable of displaying 64 channels when using a 64bit compatible Datapath Image4-64
card, however this requires setting for 64bit operation.

When the Image 4-64 cards are used the Portwell ROBO-8120 BIOS can be placed in either 32bit or 64bit
enabled modes using the BIOS option Enable4G Decode.

To enable 64bit operation, enter setup from the boot screen by pressing <DEL> as prompted.

In the BIOS setup utility select:

Advanced>PCI Sub System Settings>Above 4G Decoding

Disabled = 32bit operation

Enabled = 64bit operation

10

If 4G Decode is selected (Enabled) this increases the number of Image4-64 cards that can be installed as
they are now mapped into an extended address space.

There is however a restriction when using the Image4-64 in 64bit mode. In 64bit mode the VGA BIOS
does not support a boot output, therefore when this 0ption is selected the IGD option should be
configured (Page 9) to ensure that a boot output is available.
