Bass enhancer

Use this procedure to set the dynamic range of the output signals
when playing DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital.

Dynamic range compression

• This setting is only effective for analog outputs.
• This setting is ineffective when “SOURCE DIRECT” is set to

“50kHz” or “100kHz”.

Dynamic range:

This is the ratio between the softest sound that can be played
without being drowned out by the noise generated by the
equipment and the loudest sound that can be produced without the
sound breaking up.

• When setting “100kHz”, first check the range of the connected

amplifier and speakers to avoid damage to the connected
equipment.

• When setting “50kHz” or “100kHz”, set all the speaker sizes to

“LARGE” and the subwoofer to “YES”. Make analog connections if
you want to play DVD-Audio discs.

• The “CHANNEL LEVEL” and “DELAY TIME” settings remain in

effect even when “50kHz” or “100kHz” is set.
