FAULT

CAUSE

RESOLUTION

The machine does not turn on

1. No electricity supply

2. Main power switch is not on

1. Check plug is switched on at wall

2. Check power switch on left hand

side of cabinet is switched on.

The filter head does not insert into
the holder

1. Too much ground coffee in the

filter head cup

2. Remains of used coffee sticking

to roof of filter holder

1. Remove excess coffee to 2mm below lip.

Reset the time of grind (see page 12)

2. Re-insert empty filter head into the

holder and press

to run water for

a couple of seconds. Remove filter head
and used puck should now be in the
filter head. Repeat if not removed.

The coffee does not come out or
comes out too slowly

1. No water in the tank

2. Coffee ground too fine

3. Pipes contain mineral deposits

1. Refill water tank.

2. Alter the grind to a coarser blend (see

page 13 - Setting the grind)

2. Fill two filter heads of grinds before the

new setting will come through machine.

3. Descale your machine.

3. Wash filter head in dishwasher

The coffee comes out too quickly
and is not very creamy

1. Coffee ground too coarsely

2. Coffee beans too old

1. Alter the grind to a finer blend (see page

13 - Setting the grind)

1. Fill two filter heads of grinds before the

new setting will come through machine.

2. Replace beans in bean holder and run

through 2 filter heads of grinds before
making a new cup.

The milk does not froth

1. Milk has been heated for too long

2. Milk is being reheated

1. Replace milk and start again

2. Replace with fresh milk

Noisy supply pump

1. No water in tank

2. Insufficient pressure in the

bean holder causing too coarse
grinding

1. Refill tank

2. Refill beans.

Steam wand is leaking water from
nozzle

1. Steam nozzle is blocked with

old milk

2. Steam nozzle is not tightened

3. O-ring has deteriorated

1. Purge steam nozzle after every use.

Unscrew and wash with hot water or in
dishwasher.

2. Tighten nozzle

3. Call service for new o-ring

Conical grinder working but no
grinds coming out

1. Coffee bean size too large

2. Beans have been coated in

a sugar substance and have
blocked grinder

1. Maximum bean size recommended is 8mm

2. Call in a Kleenmaid Service Agent
