NOTE: If a tether anchor is not available,
store the tether assembly in the storage
pocket in back of headrest. See section 7.2
for information on how to store top tether.
If the vehicle does not have a tether anchor,
contact your vehicle dealer or vehicle
manufacturer for tether anchor information.
Center car seat on the vehicle seat between
seat belt anchorages so that the back of the
car seat contacts the vehicle seat back
(Fig. 38).
Adjust the vehicle seat back into the upright position or the recline
adjustment
specified in the vehicle owner’s manual.
The back of the car seat must be in contact with the vehicle seat as descri-
bed in “Vehicle seat back and Headrest adjustment” section.
Attaching and adjustment of top tether:
If not using top tether to secure car seat,
store tether and go to “Securing your child”
section.
Lengthen the top tether belt by pushing the
adjustment button and pulling on tether
hook.
Fasten the hook on the vehicle top tether
anchor by placing the flat spring over the
vehicle tether anchor, Press down (Fig. 39;
No. 1) and pull back (Fig 39; No. 2).
Check that the hook is closed and the belt is not twisted.
Make sure that the back of your car seat is resting against the vehicle's seat
back.
