Hesitation:

Some possible reasons for media hesitation are:

1. Media not being grabbed by vacuum plate. Turn on the Vacuum switch. Use the correct

Vacuum Plate for your type of media. See “Choose and Install the Proper Vacuum Plate”.

2. Improper Sheet Separation adjustment
3. Not enough pressure on media by the Forwarding Rollers. See “Adjust the Forwarding

Rollers to Accommodate the Media Thickness”.

4. Dirty Feed Rollers. Clean the rollers.
5. Stack too heavy for feeder to pull media from bottom of stack. Reduce stack height.
6. Side guides and Rear Guide too tight. Allow 1/6” gap between media and guide.

Jamming:

Some possible reasons for media jamming are:

1. Improper Sheet Separation adjustment. Too high may allow more than one piece to feed.

Tool low may not allow media to feed properly. See “Adjust the Sheet Separator”.

2. Damaged media, such as dog-eared (turn down corners).
3. Media that is not stiff enough may not be usable.
4. Envelopes that are caught under the flap of another envelope or stuck to one another.

Removing Jams in the Feeder

If a jam occurs; immediately STOP the Feeder using the Emergency Stop button.

1. Turn off the feeder.

2. Release/lift the forwarding rollers by rotating

the

Roller Pressure Lever [B] clockwise.

3. Remove any media in the hopper.

4. Remove the jammed pieces from the feeder.

5. Lower the forwarding roller by rotating the

Roller Pressure Lever

[B] counterclockwise.

Warning! To avoid damage; check to be sure
the Sheet Separator is not in contact with the
Vacuum Plate.

6. Replace the media and restart the job.

Tip: If jamming continues; please revisit the section titled “Setting Up the Feeder”.
