Introduction

Standard Features

The 1481 is a customer-installable, ergonomically packaged, tabletop display station
capable of displaying up to 1920 characters on the screen. The display screen can be
formatted by a controller or host program for a variety of data entry applications. Data
can also be displayed as unformatted information. If it is interfaced with a coax printer
through a controller, or is attached to a local screen printer, it can provide a hard copy of
displayed information. Refer to Chapter 4, “Operating Procedures,” for more
information about formats and data entry procedures.

With the 88-key, 102-key, 104-key, and 122-key keyboards, the display station can
operate in Emulation mode or Native mode. With the 102-key keyboard, it can operate in
Native mode only. The operation mode is determined by the Keyboard Type setting. (See
the “Offline Keyboard Menu” section in Chapter 3.)

The 1481 can be attached to any of the following control units or their plug- compatible
equivalents:

The 1481 display station has the following standard features:

Tilt/Rotate Stand – Allows the display to be tilted over 20 degrees of arc and rotated a
full 180 degrees for viewing ease.
