A Quick reference to Xpanel’s menus & toolbars
File menu commands
The F ILE menu contains commands that are related to opening, saving, importing or
exporting panels or projects.
Each of the F ILE menu commands is described in the following table:
New Design mode only.
Opens a new, empty panel in Xpanel.
See “Opening panels or projects” on page 4-2 for more information.
Alternative access:

Keyboard shortcut: C TRL +N
• Toolbar button:
Open Opens the O PEN P ANEL window, which lets you select an existing
panel to open.

• Toolbar button:
Save Design mode only.
Saves changes made to the currently selected panel, as well as any
specified metadata.
If saving the panel for the first time, it opens the S AVE P ANEL
window (otherwise it simply saves using the current panel name).
See “Saving a panel” on page 4-47 for more information.
Alternative access:
•
Keyboard shortcut: C TRL +S
• Toolbar button:
• Right-click the panel’s tab and select the S AVE command.
Save As Design mode only.
Opens the S AVE P ANEL window, which allows you to save the
currently selected panel using a new name and/or directory
location.
Close Closes the currently selected panel. If the panel contains unsaved
changes, the C
LOSE P ANEL window appears and offer you the
opportunity to save the changes before closing the panel.
Alternative access:
•
C LOSE button (upper-right corner) of the selected panel.
• Right-click the panel’s tab and select the C LOSE command.
