6.3.2

Forward/reverse (right/left)

The rotation of your cordless drill can be reversed. The direction of rotation is controlled by the
selector located above the trigger switch.

Press selector F(orward) on left side of machine (to the right side): drill turns right
(forward/fasten screws)

Press selector R(everse) on right side (to the left side): drill turns left (reverse/loosen
screws)

The switch trigger is locked when it is in its centre position.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the gearbox, always allow the chuck to come to a complete
stop before changing the direction of rotation or selecting another speed (HI-LO). To stop,
release the trigger switch.

6.4

Speed selector (lo/hi )

Your cordless drill has a speed selector switch on top of the machine, for drilling or
driving at LO (1) or HI (2) speed. When you select LO (1) speed range, the speed will
decrease but will provide more power and torque. When using drill in the HI (2) speed
range. Speed will increase but will provides less power and torque. Use LO (1) speed for
high power and torque application and HI (2) speed for fast drilling or driving applications.

6.5

Auxiliary handle (pow x0172li,pow x0173li,pow x0175li)

An auxiliary handle is packed with your POWX0172LI,POWX0173LI,POWX0175LI, It can help
to keep better control over your machine. To mount the auxiliary handle: Open the clamping
ring by turning the handle counterclockwise, slide the ring of the auxiliary handle onto the
spindle collar of the machine behind the torque adjustment ring, then tighten the auxiliary
handle at the desired angle by turning the handle clockwise.
Note: For convenience the screw has been trapped inside the auxiliary handle. To
prevent thread damage and possible loss of control, the auxiliary handle should be
checked periodically for tightness. Do not operate the drill with the handle is loose.

6.6

Installing/removing bits

6.6.1

Installing bits

Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of rotation selector in center position.
Open or close chuck jaws to a point where the opening is slightly larger than the bit size you
intend to use. Also, raise the front of the drill slightly to keep the bit from falling out of the
chuck jaws. Insert drill bit straight into chuck the full length of the jaws as shown in. Tighten
the chuck jaws on the drill bit.
Note: Rotate the chuck body in the direction of the arrow marked LOCK to tighten chuck jaws
(A). Do not use a wrench to tighten or loosen the chuck jaws.
WARNING:
Make sure to insert drill bit straight into chuck jaws.
Do not insert drill bit into chuck jaws at an angle, this could cause drill bit to be thrown from drill
resulting in possible serious personal injury or damage to the chuck.

6.6.2

Removing bits

Lock the switch trigger by placing rotation selector in center position.
Loosen the chuck jaws from the drill bit.
Note: Rotate chuck body in the direction of the arrow marked UNLOCK to loosen chuck jaws.
Do not use a wrench to tighten or loosen the chuck jaws.
Remove the drill bit from the chuck jaws.
