2.2 Features
This section provides an overview of the PCI-X Interface and the
FC Interface for the 4 Gbit/s family of host adapters.
2.2.1 PCI-X Interface
PCI-X is an interface that allows the FC host adapter to communicate
with the CPU and memory subsystem. PCI-X is commonly available in
equipment ranging from PCs to high-end servers. The PCI-X Interface
operates as a 64-bit DMA bus master capable of 64-bit addressing.
The PCI-X interface includes the following features:

Full 64-bit DMA bus master

LSIFC949X functionality:
– Zero wait-state bus master data bursts up to 1 Kbyte
– Host adapters comply with PCI Local Bus Specification, Rev. 2.2
– 3.3 V interface

Serial EEPROM configuration storage

Host adapters comply with PCI-X/133 Addendum to the PCI Local
Bus Specification, Rev. 1.0a
Firmware OpenBoot PROM, version 2.1 or later
For AMD, Intel IA-32 or IA-64 hardware environments
Hardware Any AMD or Intel-compatible system with 3.3 V PCI slots (the
LSI7404XP can also accommodate 5.0 V slots)
