SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR
FOAM AIR FILTER CLEANING
FOAM AIR FILTER
Clean the foam air filter in warm
soapy water, rinse, and allow to
dry thoroughly, or clean in non-
flammable solvent and allow to
dry.
Dip the foam air filter in clean
engine oil, and then squeeze
out all excess oil. The engine
will smoke when started if too
much oil is left in the filter.
Wipe dirt from the air cleaner housing and cover using a moist rag.
Be careful to prevent dirt from entering the air duct that leads to the
carburetor.
A dirty foam air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing
engine performance. If you operate the generator in very dusty areas,
clean the foam air filter more frequently than specified in the
Maintenance Schedule (see page
1.
