Resets menu

You may need to reset the printer In the following circumstances:

z

You want to restore the printer’s default settings.

z

Communication between the printer and computer has
been interrupted.

CAUTION

When you use the restore factory settings option on this menu,
you can lose printer configuration settings.

Note

This option does not reset an HP Jetdirect print server to its default
settings if one is installed in the printer. To reset the HP Jetdirect
print server, see “

.”

Diagnostics menu

This menu allows you to test various components of the printer so you
can identify and solve problems.

the printer’s predetermined
factory values.

POWERSAVE

This item enables and
disables PowerSave.

Message

Description

PRINT EVENT LOG

This item prints the last 50 entries in the printer’s
event log, starting with the most recent event.

SHOW EVENT LOG

This item displays the last 50 events on the
LCD control panel, starting with the most
recent event.

PAPER PATH TEST

This item tests the paper handling features of the
printer. If you have difficulty printing on both sides of
the page or printing from one of the trays, run this
test to verify that the paper path is working properly.
