Place child
restraint rear-
facing in the back
seat. With child
restraint in the fully
reclined position,
make sure level
line on side of
shell is level with

ground. Adjust child restraint if needed.

NOTE:

Hook top anchorage strap to recline

foot (see “Adjusting the Top Anchorage
Strap” section).

A loose top anchorage (tether) strap can
result in serious injury or death.

Loose LATCH hooks can result in serious
injury or death.

When LATCH is
not being used,
fasten LATCH
hooks on side of
child restraint as
shown.

Do Not Use

the top

anchorage strap in
the rear-facing
position.

Hook top
anchorage strap to
recline foot (see
“Adjusting the Top
Anchorage Strap”
section).

Rear-Facing Installation
with Vehicle Belt:

Thread the
vehicle lap or
lap/shoulder belt
combination
through the rear-
facing belt slot.

Thread UNDER
seat pad behind
the crotch strap,
between crotch
strap and rear
harness slot, and
out opposite side.
Buckle vehicle
belt.

Do not place
vehicle belt over
child’s legs.
