6-1 Functions of Mac-PC Manager Lite

Mac-PC Manager Lite is a software driver that automati-

cally mounts Macintosh formatted and DOS (MS-DOS/V,
PC-DOS/V) formatted PC cards and floppy disks. Mac-PC
Manager Lite provides the following functions:

- Automatically mounts the Macintosh-

formatted or DOS-formatted PC cards.

- Links JPEG image files to Adobe

PhotoDeluxe™.

NOTE:

• The DOS format is used by IBM PC/AT compatible computers
and Minolta’s digital still cameras. The files stored on a DOS-for-
matted PC card are DOS files.

• Mac-PC Manager Lite is able to read DOS text files. However,
DOS uses CR (carriage return) as well as LF (line field) while
Macintosh only uses CR. When using Mac-PC Manager Lite with
DOS text files LF will appear as a blank space.

• Windows 95 allows 255 characters to be used for a file name.
Macintosh file names are limited to 31 characters. When using
Mac-PC Manager Lite to mount a DOS file with more than 31
characters the title will appear reduced. See the example below.
