4.1.5.2 Digital

Transmissions

1. Press the TX Mode Change key

repeatedly until the Digital Transmit
icon (

) is displayed.

2. Check that the correct talk group ID

is selected.

3. Ensure that the channel is clear.
4. Press and hold the push to talk key

(PTT). The Transmit/Receive LED
will light red while transmitting.

5. Hold the microphone approximately two inches from your mouth and speak in a

clear, normal voice. Keep the PTT switch pressed until you have finished speaking.

6. Release the PTT switch to return to standby mode and receive any reply.

4.1.5.3 Encrypted

Transmissions

1. Press the TX Mode Change key

repeatedly until encrypted transmit
mode is displayed. Depending on
channel programming, the
encrypted transmit mode may
display the Digital DES Transmit
icon (

) or Digital AES Transmit

icon (

).

2. Check that the correct talk group ID

is selected.

3. Ensure that the channel is clear.
4. Press and hold the push to talk key

(PTT). The Transmit/Receive LED
will light red while transmitting.

5. Hold the microphone approximately two inches from your mouth and speak in a

clear, normal voice. Keep the PTT switch pressed until you have finished speaking.

6. Release the PTT switch to return to standby mode and receive any reply.
