Use the remote control within about 16 feet
(5 meters) of the receiver and within 30 degrees of
perpendicular to the front of the receiver.

Configuring speakers (Sp Config menu)

This section explains how to specify which speakers
are connected and defines their sizes.
For speakers with a cone diameter larger than 6.5
inches (16 cm), specify Large (full band). For those
with a smaller diameter, specify Small (default
crossover 120 Hz).
The crossover frequency can be changed in the
Crossover submenu.
See “Using on-screen setup menus” on page 22 for
information on accessing and using the menus.

Setting the crossover frequency (Crossover Frequency
submenu of
Sp Config menu)

This setting is recommended for the speakers that
you specify as Small. To get the best bass
performance from your speaker system, you need
to set the crossover frequency according to the size
and frequency response of your speakers. Options
include 40Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 70Hz, 80Hz, 90Hz,
100Hz, 120Hz, 150Hz,
and 200Hz.
Use the diameter of the smallest speaker in your
system when choosing the crossover frequency.

See “Using on-screen setup menus” on page 22 for
information on accessing and using the menus.

Using the Double Bass setting (Double Bass submenu of
Sp Config menu)

Lets you boost bass output by feeding bass sounds
from the front left, right, and center channels to the
subwoofer. Optional settings are On and Off.

Setting wireless (This setting appears only when
RF-RBCARD is inserted)

This menu is used if you are connecting your home
theater front left/right, surround, or subwoofer
channels using Rocketboost wireless (see
Rocketboost Setup” on page 12 for more details
about Rocketboost).
The On menu option results in the wired and
wireless channels in your home theater to be
synchronized in time.
If any of these channels in your home theater are
connected with Rocketboost wireless, then set
those channels to On. For example, if you are using
Rocketboost for wireless surround sound and
wireless subwoofer in your home theater, then set
Wireless Sur and Wireless SW to On.
If you are using Rocketboost Wireless to send the
front left/right speaker audio signals to
Rocketboost receivers in other rooms of your
house, and not for your left/right home theater
speakers, then set Wireless Front to Off.

Setting speaker distance (Sp Distance menu)

Lets you specify the distance from each speaker to
the listening position so that the sound from each
speaker arrives at the listener’s ears as the sound
designer intended.

Cautions

Do not expose the remote control to shock. In
addition, do not expose the remote control to
liquids, and do not place in an area with high
humidity.

Do not place the remote control under direct
sunlight. The heat may cause deformation of
the remote control.

The remote control may not work properly if the
remote sensor window of the receiver is under
direct sunlight or strong lighting. In such a case,
change the angle of the lighting or receiver, or
operate the remote control closer to the remote
sensor window.

Note

Speaker Configuration, Crossover Frequency, and
Double Bass settings are disabled while headphones
are connected, or when Audio TV OUT is set to On.
