Locating your receiver

Install your receiver on a stable, flat surface.
Position your receiver so that it can have a
direct line of sight to the remote control.

Do not expose your receiver to extremes of
temperature or humidity.

Avoid placing your receiver on a hot surface
such as on top of other hot running
equipment. Make sure that there is adequate
ventilation to your receiver.

Locating your speakers

Ideal speaker placement varies depending on
the size of your room and the wall coverings. A
typical example of speaker placement and
recommendations are as follows.

Locating the front left and right speakers and
center speaker

Place the front speakers with their front
surfaces as flush with the TV or monitor
screen as possible.

Place the center speaker between the front
left and right speakers and no further from
the listening position than the front speakers.

Place each speaker so that sound is aimed at
the location of the listener’s ears when at the
main listening position.

Locating the surround left and right speakers

Place the surround speakers approximately
40 inches (1 meter) above the ear level of a
seated listener on the direct left and right of
them or slightly behind.

Locating a powered subwoofer

The subwoofer reproduces powerful deep bass
sounds. Place a subwoofer anywhere in the front
as desired.

Warning

Do not plug the AC power cord into an AC power
outlet until all connections are completed.

Notes

Be sure to observe the color coding when
connecting audio, video, and speaker cables.

Make connections firmly and correctly. Failure
to do this can cause loss of sound, add noise to
the sound, or damage your receiver.

Caution

Do not install this receiver in a confined space such as a
bookcase.

Note

Connect the AC cord only after the speakers, antenna, and all
optional equipment have been connected. Never make or
change any connections with the power turned on.
