Air bag location
1. Driver’s air bag.

System sensors
The air bags and seat belt pretensioners
are electrically controlled by an Advanced
Restraints Technology System (ARTS).
Various sensors determine the direction
and severity of an impact. The system
analyses this information then deploys
only the appropriate air bags e.g. the side
air bags where the impact is on that side
only.

speeds or in rear impacts.
Occupancy classification sensor
A weight sensitive sensor is located in the
front passenger seat to determine the
weight acting upon the seat. In certain
conditions, e.g. where no passenger is
present, the appropriate will be
deactivated. In a collision these would not
be deployed.
