Character Pitch

Important!
Front panel settings for character pitch are normally
overridden when the SI command is received from your
software.

Character pitch determines how many characters will print on
each line. You can choose a specific fixed width for each
character in characters per inch (CPI), or Proportional. The
higher cpi settings are often used for spreadsheets.

Proportional (PROP) sets character widths based on the
character itself: e.g., the letter i is assigned a narrower width
than the letter m. This provides a more polished, typeset
appearance.

Note: To reset the printer to the factory default character

pitch, deselect the printer, then press and hold the

SHIFT

key while pressing the

CHARACTER PITCH

key.
