Troubleshooting

Operation

The remote does not function.

• There are obstacles between the remote and

the unit, or the remote receptor.

• The distance between the card remote

commander and the unit is too far.

• The card remote commander is not pointed

at the remote sensor, or the receptor on the
unit properly.

• The batteries in the card remote commander

are weak.

The operation buttons do not
function.

Press the Reset button (page 9).

The menu items cannot be
selected.

The menu item of the function that is not
available is shown in grey.

The disc will not eject.

Press and hold Z (eject) for two seconds.

No beep sound.

• The beep sound is cancelled (page 35).
• The built-in amplifier is not used.

The contents of the memory have
been erased.

• The Reset button has been pressed.

, Store again into the memory.

• The power connecting lead or battery has

been disconnected.

• The power connecting lead is not connected

properly.

The display items do not scroll.

• For discs with so many characters, those may

not scroll.

• “A.Scroll” is set to off.

, Set “A.Scroll On” (page 22).

The disc cannot be loaded.

• Another disc is already loaded.
• The ignition key switch of the car is set to the

OFF position.

Sound

There is no sound/sound skips/
sound cracks.

• A connection has not been made correctly.
• Check the connection to the connected

equipment, and set the input selector of the
equipment to the source corresponding to
this unit.

• The disc is dirty, flawed, or deteriorated.
• The unit is installed at an angle of more than

30°.

• The unit is not installed in a sturdy part of

the car.

• The unit is in fast-forward or fast-reverse

mode.

• The settings for the outputs are not made

correctly.

• Adjust DVD output level (page 35).
• The volume is too low.
• The position of the fader control (FAD) is not

set for a 2-speaker system.

• Att is set. Press ATT to release the Att setting

or press VOL +/–.

Sound is noisy.

Keep cords and cables away from each other.
