Note on playback operations of DVD VIDEOs and VIDEO CDs
Some playback operations of DVD VIDEOs and VIDEO CDs may be
intentionally fixed by software producers. Since this player plays DVD
VIDEOs and VIDEO CDs according to the disc contents the software
producers designed, some playback features may not be available. Also refer
to the instructions supplied with the DVD VIDEOs or VIDEO CDs.
This player can play the following discs:
DVD VIDEOs
(NTSC only)
VIDEO CDs
(NTSC/PAL)
AUDIO CDs (CD-DA)
Compatible disc types
About playing a CD-R
You can play a CD-R recorded from a VIDEO CD or an AUDIO CD.
However, depending on the recorded contents, playback may not be possible.
You cannot play the following discs:
• DVD-ROMs
• CD-ROMs
• PHOTO CDs
• CD EXTRAs (data sections)
Note
This player conforms to the NTSC color system only, and cannot play discs
recorded in other color systems such as PAL or SECAM. However, you can play
VIDEO CDs recorded in PAL color system.
Notes on DVD VIDEO discs
Region code of DVD VIDEOs you can play
Region code indications such as 3 are labeled on some DVD VIDEOs to
indicate which type of player can play the discs.
Unless “3” is included in the indication or
ALL
is labeled on the DVD VIDEO,
you cannot play the disc on this player. If you try to play other types of DVD
VIDEOs, the message “PLAYING THIS DISC PROHIBITED BY AREA LIMITS”
will appear on the TV screen.
Depending on the DVD VIDEO, the region code indication may not be
provided, even though playing the DVD VIDEO is prohibited by the area limits.
