Ensure the television’s video input setting is correct. •

appear faded. The unit and television are using different video systems.
– Use the multi-system or NTSC television.
The system used on the disc does not match your television.
– PAL discs cannot be correctly viewed on an NTSC television.
– This unit can convert NTSC signals to PAL 60 for viewing on a PAL television
(“NTSC DISC OUT” in “VIDEO” menu).

There is ghosting when
progressive output is on. This problem is caused by the editing method or material used on DVD-Video,
but should be corrected if you use interlace output. Change “VIDEO OUT (I/P)” in
“VIDEO” menu to “INTERLACE”. • 23
Picture not in progressive
output. Select “PROGRESSIVE” in “VIDEO OUT (I/P)” in “VIDEO” menu.
If the unit is connected to the television through VIDEO OUT terminal, output will be
interlace, even if “PRG” is displayed. •

Disc tray(s) cannot open.
“CHGR ERR” is displayed. Press [^/I] to release the jammed tray(s) as the unit will switch off. Switch it on
again and the tray(s) will initialize to the previous tray(s) condition.
If this still does not fix the problem, please consult the dealer. •
