Q.: How to convert a serial printer into a parallel printer for this printer series,
and vice versa?
A.: Converting from serial to parallel is easier in PP-3000 series. Change the
jumper settings and turn off DIP SW 3 and DIP SW 4 per page 4 – 4 of this
manual, set DIP SW1 and DIP SW 2 per page 4 – 7 according to the
application requirement, remove the serial cable on the 9 pin connector
(CN4). Connect the 25 pin connector (CN10) through a 25 M to 25 F cable
to the LPT port of a computer. The PP-3000S then becomes PP-3000C.
To convert to serial from parallel takes not only all the opposite
modifications of all the above, but also the implementation of a
MAX232A chip at position U3.
Q.: How to use the printer under WIN95 environment?

Q.: How to switch from the Star compatible mode to Epson emulation mode?
A.: As indicated in this manual that the Epson emulation command mode is an
option. However, it does not coexist with the Star compatible mode. You
have to order for the right BIOS and replace the U8 on the printer control
board as indicated in page 4 – 2 of this manual.
