Repeat play

[A]

Preparation
≥Switch [DVD, TV] to “DVD”.
≥Press [DISPLAY]

)[DISPLAY] to display the on-screen menu icons and use the joystick [1] to

highlight the repeat play icon (pages 62 and 64).

During play

Use the joystick [

3, 4].

The display changes as illustrated.

1) While stopped (the screen saver is on the television), press the

numbered buttons to select a track (page 8).

2) Do the above operation.

ªTo repeat only your favorite tracks

(1) Programme the tracks you want (page 21).
(2) Do the above operation.

Note
≥Repeat play may not work as desired with some discs.
≥Repeat play does not work if the disc’s elapsed play time is not shown on the unit’s display.
≥You cannot use repeat play to repeat an entire DVD-Video.

A-B repeat play

[B]

[RAM] [DVD-R] [DVD-V]

You can repeat a section between points A and B within a programme, title, or chapter.

Preparation
≥Switch [DVD, TV] to “DVD”.
≥Press [DISPLAY]

)[DISPLAY] to display the on-screen menu icons and use the joystick [1] to

highlight the A-B repeat icon (pages 62 and 64).

During play

Press [ENTER].

The display changes as illustrated.
A-B repeat starts when you specify point B.

Note
≥A-B repeat does not work if the DVD’s elapsed play time is not shown on the unit’s display.
≥The unit automatically determines the end of a programme/title as point B when the end of the

programme/title is reached.

≥Some subtitles recorded around point A or B may fail to appear.
≥This does not work while playing a play list.

Enjoying virtual surround sound effects (V.S.S.)

[RAM] [DVD-R] [DVD-V]
(Only with Dolby Digital with 2 or more channels)

Enjoy a surround-like effect if you are using two front speakers only. The effect is broadened and
sound seems to come from virtual speakers on either side if the disc has surround signals
recorded on it.

Preparation
≥Switch [DVD, TV] to “DVD”.
≥Turn off the surround effects on the other equipment.
≥Press [DISPLAY]

)[DISPLAY] to display the on-screen menu icons and use the joystick [1] to

highlight the V.S.S. icon (pages 62 and 64).

Use the joy stick [

3, 4] to select the effect.

Note
≥V.S.S. will not work, or will have less effect, with some discs, even if you select “1” or “2”.
≥Turn V.S.S. off if it causes distortion.
