(3) Setting breakpoints

Breakpoint setup screen

There are two types of breakpoints as described below. It is
necessary to select the breakpoint by the break mode button.
The current breakpoint is displayed in the break mode
display area.
BM:SW Software

- Software breakpoint (B)
A software breakpoint can be set or cleared by double-

clicking the breakpoint display area.
If the breakpoint you set is a software breakpoint, the
program stops before executing the instruction at the set
breakpoint. Up to eight breakpoints can be set.

- Hardware

breakpoint

A hardware breakpoint can be set or cleared by the

hardware break point setting dialog box.
If the breakpoint you set is a hardware breakpoint, the
program stops after executing the instruction at the set
breakpoint. Up to two breakpoints can be set, and
conditions of an address range or external trigger, etc.,
can be also set.
