Delete Messages
You can delete messages from the Read Messages menu or the Delete Messages menu. The
Read Messages menu allows deletion of specific messages while the Delete Messages menu
allows deletion of groups of message types.
Deleting Messages from the Read Message Menu
1. While reviewing a message, press the FLASH key.
2. Scroll to Delete Message and press FLASH.
3. Message Deleted will display and the message will be removed from that list.
Deleting Messages from the Delete Message Menu
1. Press the FLASH key to enter the user menu.
2. Select SMS Menu then select Delete Messages.
3. Select which type of messages you want to delete.
All Read: includes all read messages
All Read Sent: includes all read and sent messages
All Rd Snt Unsnt: includes all read, sent and unsent messages
All Msgs: includes all read, sent, unsent and new messages
4. If there are messages in any of the lists, Messages Deleted will be displayed. If there are
no messages in the list you have selected an error message will be displayed.
Forward Messages
1. Press the FLASH key.
2. Select SMS Menu, then select Read Messages.
3. Select the desired type of message to view (New, Received, Sent, or Unsent).
4. Scroll to the desired message, then press the FLASH key.
5. Select Forward Message.
6. Type any additional text, then press the FLASH key.
7. Enter the phone number to which the message will be forwarded.
8. Press the FLASH key.
Reply to Messages
1. Press the FLASH key.
2. Select SMS Menu, then scroll to and select Read Messages.
3. Select the desired type of message to view (Reply will work only for New or Received
messages).
4. Scroll to the desired message, then press the FLASH key.
5. Select Reply.
6. Type the desired reply, then press the FLASH key.
SMS Priority Indication
If an SMS comes in with an URGENT or EMERGENCY priority,
then three triangles will be displayed in the LCD window of your
SX4P.
SMS Priority Retrieval
To retrieve the priority message follow the Read Messages pro-
cedure.
Note: The Priority indication will disappear after entering the SMS
message menu, even if the priority message was not read. When
reading a message that has urgent priority, the indication will be
displayed normally with the addition of three triangles. The Priority
indication will also be removed if the user deletes all messages.
